At RLWS, the Production Scheduling Clerk performs a variety of customer service and manufacturing scheduling functions. Process, prioritize and plan work orders to ensure work orders are scheduled and completed to meet customer order deadlines. Plans and schedules all manufactured products through entire production process. Responsibilities include daily work order development and release, raw material requests, capacity management and other scheduling duties within a material resource planning (MRP) system. Position and organization’s goal is to meet and exceeds customer service standards. Ensures a proactive approach to customer service and ensures diplomatic schedule communications between departments. Position works core business hours plus occasional overtime based on business and customer needs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR TASKS:
- Monitor quote processes from sales to ensure quotes are completed on time.
- Schedule work orders for production.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Participates and communicates needs during weekly department meetings.
- Maintain confidentiality between all customers with regard to all areas of business (including but not limited to applications, products, software, marketing strategies, company staff, sales volume and any other information) that could provide a competitive advantage.
- Monitoring part groupings to make sure manufacturing release and work center dispatch lists reflect running like set ups together.
- Prepare and input data to update work center priority lists.
- Identify and communicate to Master Planner any problems with MRP planning and CRP data base.
- Calculate, identify, communicate to purchasing department, raw material needed for standard and special work orders. Includes requesting raw material order status to ensure production and customer needs are met.
- Monitoring of reports and deadlines for accuracy and communicates any incorrect information to Sales. Follows up as needed to assure changes are made.
- Perform as required core scheduling duties such as, processing of special work orders, work order assembly, maintenance of production files, routing changes on open work orders.
- Ensure proper distribution of work orders.
- Participates as a team member in manufacturing floor Tier 1 meetings.
- Work with quality department to coordinate the scheduling of non-conformance product.
- Ensuring that proper specifications are communicated and completed for repair work orders.
- Perform required inventory control procedures. Assisting manufacturing floor with inventory transactions, cycle counting, physical counts of work in process and finished goods.
- Back-up for other scheduling departments and product lines based on business needs.

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Skills
Scheduling, production control, or MRP experience preferred.
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Must work well under pressure and maintain professionalism during stressful situations
- Must be self-motivated, confident, highly dependable and have strong follow-up skills
- Good personal computer skills including Windows, Word and Excel skills (M2K experience a plus)
- Strong team player
- Ability to interact with other departments to gain access to necessary information
- Excellent professional telephone skills and presence
- Ability to respond to needs of customers in a timely and value-added manner
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
