Job Summary:
Rice Memorial High School seeks a dedicated and reliable Maintenance and Custodial Staff member to join our team. This individual will play a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and functional environment for our students, faculty, and visitors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Custodial Duties
Perform daily cleaning of classrooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, cafeteria, and other areas.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust surfaces regularly.
Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal.
Restock supplies (e.g., soap, paper towels, toilet paper) as needed.
Sanitize high-touch surfaces and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Maintenance Duties
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC repairs.
Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure the proper functioning of school facilities and equipment.
Report and address safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or repair needs promptly.
Maintain outdoor areas, including landscaping, snow removal, and general upkeep.
Additional Responsibilities
Assist with event setup and teardown, including arranging furniture and equipment.
Respond to on-call emergencies as needed.
Collaborate with other staff to ensure the school meets all cleanliness and maintenance standards.
Adhere to all school and diocesan policies, safety regulations, and guidelines.
Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Availability for occasional evening or weekend work to support special events or emergencies.
