Position Summary
The Kinder Institute for Urban Research seeks a full-time Associate Director of Development who will be part of the Kinder Institute development team in the External Affairs Division and will engage in fundraising programs for annual operating support, corporate and foundation grants, individual major gifts, and event sponsorships. The position reports to the Director of Development.
The Kinder Institute for Urban Research aims to improve lives through data, research, engagement, and action. The institute is focused on critical aspects shaping the social and cultural landscape of the Houston area. The five centers will research , , , and . Each center will investigate its particular topic area and will work across centers. To achieve this, each center is building interdisciplinary teams specializing in solutions-oriented research while using a model to jointly design, develop, and conduct research that values diversity in expertise and prioritizes the community in identifying and addressing some of the most pressing questions and challenges facing Houston to inform decision-making and bring about change in the region.
The ideal candidate is an organized and proactive problem-solver who can manage multiple tasks and priorities and is comfortable engaging with donors. Experience with both event planning and implementation and direct donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship is required. A strong customer service / donor relations background and the ability to collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
Workplace Requirements
This position offers a hybrid work schedule within Harris County and surrounding counties, combining both in-office and remote work to provide flexibility and support collaboration. Per , work arrangements may be subject to change.
This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position, and the salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
