ABOUT THE JOB DETAILS :
The role of the Application Security Program Manager (Business SME 1) will be a contracted support staff position predominantly focusing on application security challenges on behalf of the Information Security Office. The position is a key leadership role critical for the success, growth, and delivery of secure application operations. This manager will incorporate security into key divisions and programs, provide oversight, and advise on application security initiatives to ensure capabilities are optimized for the Information Security Program. The manager will also implement program policies and initiatives to support the State of Maine's information security goals and objectives established by the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Lead the implementation and management of application security programs to protect critical State systems and data.
- Provide leadership, direction, and hands-on management for delivering mission-enabling cybersecurity solutions focused on application security.
- Design and implement secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices across State systems.
- Partner with other MaineIT divisions to fortify the State's application security posture.
- Collaborate with other sections of the Information Security Office to further the State of Maine Information Security Program Plan.
- Establish goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for achieving secure application environments.
- Contribute to the development of mission strategy and operational direction, with a focus on secure application delivery.
- Assist the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) in planning, program management, incident response activities, and application security coordination efforts.
- Facilitate effective communication across teams, vendors, and stakeholders to address application security challenges.
- Provide leadership to cross-functional teams tasked with addressing application security concerns.

The candidate must have 8 to 10 years of experience in leadership roles, program management, and as a change agent improving application security program maturity.
