Job Description
Responsible for the following for the Stuttgart Soy Division. Analyze operational production data for daily review and compile monthly reports on the data. Yield analysis and Inventory reporting throughout the month. This includes closing shop orders for daily production and closing production data within a set period. Responsible for preparing reports, presentations, and other documents as needed to assist management in evaluating costing and other specific plant issues. Coordinate, develop and maintain the required division data for the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Establish and maintain costing updates on package supply items. Perform cost analysis on existing and proposed new operations and/or products. Analyze operations by physical observations and interact with employees and management. Coordinate the development of annual budgets for divisions. Assist the Rice Mill Division Accountants as needed. Perform other accounting and auditing functions as required.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Yield Analysis for Oil operations and partnerships.
- Reconciling Inventory to ledger reports.
- Closing entries for the Bran movement program at the end of month.
- Standard Costing.
- Variance Analysis, including cost, price, margin, quantity, and transactional.
- Gain understanding of ERP system and how it reflects processes in manufacturing.
- Gain understanding of how inventory transactions affect inventory and general ledger.
- Perform cost roll-ups and review for accuracy and reasonableness.
- Review and post various accounting transactions.
- Assist with month end closing processes related to costing.
- Review and reconcile slow moving/obsolete goods.
- GL account reconciliations related to various costing items.
- Actively involved with assisting management with inventory procedures and reviewing inventory for accuracy.
- Working with oil partnership providing data, presentations and inventory documents.
- Willingness to interact with team members from all departments-provide info/resolve concerns.
- Support/lead teams focused on gross margin improvement opportunities.
- Working with all levels of the organization including operations, accounting, supply chain, FP & A, and leadership.
- Willingness to cross train on other accounting functions. Assist work on cross-functional teams to support business operations. Team player, and willing to learn new skills and concepts.
- Various ad hoc analysis.
Education Requirements
- 2 years accounting experience in an agricultural or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, supply chain, agricultural economics, or related field.
- 12 to 18 months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge in ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Computer knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
