Job Description
Move railcars and trucks throughout the facility to service multiple production departments promptly, in all weather conditions, for extended hours of the day, and sometimes into the night. Extensive manual labor includes walking, lifting, stooping, bending, crawling, and frequently climbing to heights above 20 feet.
Job Duties
Arrange, organize, and clean the railyard.
Stay in constant communication with team members and supervisors.
Direct traffic in the railyard by moving switches and calling out directions.
Drive heavy machinery as necessary.
Inspect, clean, and set up hoppers and boxcars for loading in the appropriate track/load-out areas.
Dispatch and organize multiple bulk trucks in the scheduling order. Inspect, clean, then distribute information on the trucks.
Communicate carrier load and identification information to multiple sources.
Fill out inspection and seal sheets on railcars, bulk trucks, and various other types of carriers.
Fumigate multiple types of carriers when necessary.
Security seal railcars, trucks, and other carriers after being loaded.
Other duties may be assigned. Responsible for food safety by following HACCP and Food Safety policies/procedures. Responsible for plant safety by observing persons entering your work area, asking if you can assist them, and reporting unauthorized persons to your supervisor.
Attend training as required or approved by the supervisor.
Follow all safety and sanitation procedures.
Education Requirements
Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special requirements for the position
Must be able to work extended hours, scheduling changes, and weekends when necessary.
Must pass a federal-level background check with the Department of Homeland Security.
