Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring a high level of patient care. This position requires a blend of clinical and administrative skills, making it essential for the Medical Assistant to be organized, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Perform basic life support and emergency medicine procedures as needed.
- Collect and record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information.
- Provide medical administrative support including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and coding for insurance purposes.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
- Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers to enhance patient service.
- Support internal medicine practices by preparing examination rooms and assisting during patient visits.
- Collaborate with staff in the Level II Trauma Center and Operating Room (OR) settings when necessary.
- Stay informed about physiology knowledge to assist in patient care effectively.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of physiology knowledge and basic life support techniques.
- Familiarity with medical coding practices is advantageous.
- Experience in emergency medicine or pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) settings is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on patient service and communication.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or equivalent qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
