What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Technician position at Rich Ice Cream?
Position Summary: The Quality Technician is a supporting role for the monitoring for manufacturing and filling/packaging daily activities support for any challenges on the production floor. The Quality technician also supports miscellaneous activities including light clerical and support and pulling of retain samples. Basic decision-making skills are required for how to prioritize work, manage your time, resolve daily challenges with duties listed below.
Purpose: The QA Technician is responsible for monitoring the safety, quality and consistency of all food products produced at Rich's Ice cream and ensuring compliance with the Quality Assurance Policies. Practice Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Sanitation Practices (GSP) and safe performance of duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
1. Approve line clearance of the packaging/filling line, Equipment before production runs
2. Monitors environmental conditions in the GMP areas.
3. Ensure the packaging/filling lines have the correct and appropriate documentation, packaging components, and product before and during production runs.
4. Responsible for collecting retains and laboratory evaluation samples.
5. Responsible for reporting all Quality Non-Conformances and deviations to the quality lead and management.
6. Responsible for ensuring all documentation is reported utilizing cGMP/Good documentation practices and all applicable Standard operating Procedures as well as industry best practices.
7. High level of attention to detail.
8. Excellent attendance record.
9. Must have the ability to adjust to changing work demands and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
10. Complete various laboratory and analytical testing such as PH, Solids, Micro etc…
11. Calibrate, validate, or maintain laboratory equipment.
12. Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions.
13. Participate in internal assessments and audits as required.

Minimum Qualifications: The candidate must be personable and team oriented. Candidate
should be able to work independently and act decisively. Above average math skills, computers skills, organizational and administrative skills required.
Experience: Three-year experience in the following knowledge areas preferred, but not required:
- Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Chemistry - Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
- Administrative - Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and workplace terminology.
Education: Minimum of a high school education with previous experience required. Food Science or Chemistry degree preferable, but not required.
Working Conditions: Full-Time position located in lab and on manufacturing floor. Requires walking, climbing, computer work, and sample collection.
