Overview
We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for vehicle maintenance and repair, with a strong background in auto body work. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to provide quality. As an Auto Body Technician, you will be responsible for restoring vehicles to their original condition while ensuring high-quality workmanship.
Duties
- Perform auto body repairs on various vehicle makes and models, including frame straightening and panel replacement.
- Fabricate parts as necessary to meet repair specifications.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively must speak English bilingual is a plus regarding repair processes and timelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist in heavy lifting of parts and equipment as needed during the repair process.
Experience
- Previous experience in a dealership or automotive repair shop is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in auto body repair and painting techniques.
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance practices and procedures.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Follow instruction as to which parts to restore and replace and how much time the job
- should take.
- Review damage report repair or review repair cost estimates and plan work to be
- performed.
- Sand body areas to be painted and cover bumpers windows and trim with masking tape or paper to protect them from paint.
- Fit and weld replacement parts in the place using wrenches and welding equipment and grind down welds to smooth them using power grinders and air tools.
- Prime and paint repair surfaces using paint spray guns, pressure pots, and motorized equipment.
- Remove damaged sections of vehicles using metal cutting guns, air grinders, and wrenches and install replacement parts using wrenches or welding equipment.
- Fill small dents that cannot be worked out with plastic or solder.
- File, grind, sand, and smooth filled or repaired services using power tools and hand tools.
- Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical window-and-seat operating equipment and trim to gain access to vehicle bodies and fenders.

- surrounding services during repair procedure and remove tape and wash surface after repair is complete.
- Remove small pits and dimples in body metal using hammers, picks, and punches.
- Fit and secure interior trim, headliners, and metal trim to vehicle bodies using caulk guns,
- adhesive brushes, and mallets.
- Clean work area using air hoses to remove damaged material and discarded fiberglass
- strips used in repair process.
- Apply heat to plastic panels using hot air welding guns or immersion in hot water and press the softened panels back into shape by hand.
- Read specifications or confer with customers to determine the desired custom
- modifications for altering vehicle appearance.
- Remove damaged glass on vehicles.
- Soak fiberglass matting and resin mixtures and apply layers of matting over repair areas to specific thickness.
- Cut openings in vehicle bodies for installation of customized body kits using templates and power or air tools.
