Richard Design Services (RDS) is currently seeking an experienced Technical Writer Admin for an onsite position. This is long term, full-time position.
Position Summary:
The Technical Writing Admin will report to the Document Control Supervisor and will be part of the Document Control Team. The position will include, but not be limited to, leading the successful delivery of a variety of operating documentation including manuals, guidelines, procedures, and instructions for operational readiness.
- Updating and enhancement of the company’s operating documentation to ensure quality documentation and consistency in technical content and formatting using company templates.
- Document updates will be derived from redlines on existing procedures and technical documents from the production team.
- Updates will be added to the document using proper writing skills.
- Candidate will return document for review and approval from the production team before being published for use.
- Assist with developing and management of a reporting process that monitors progress and any risk associated with the delivery of any of the Operating documentation.
- Act as the operations interface to the document management team to ensure document numbering and version control is in place using an electronic document management system (EDMS) or equivalent.
- Ensure timely review and approval cycles to maintain the agreed schedule of all documentation including all production operational readiness deliverables.
- Support, where required, the development of supplementary operations documentation as part of the readiness for operations.
- Assist with development and management of a proper tracking mechanism for the full list of operations documents created and inclusive of correct document numbering and revisions to be implemented as “ready for use”.
- Facilitate and coordinate document revisions from the Management of Change (MOC) Process.
- Minimum 3-5 years of technical writing experience.
- Must have an advanced background in Microsoft Word
- Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in written communication, including the ability to use correct grammar and construct clear, concise sentences.
- Candidate must be able to compose, edit and/or transfer documents in word from one template to another, with accuracy while maintaining proper formatting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Intense computer skills.
- Knowledge in general industry / operations terminology is a plus but not required.
- Broad technical writing skills to include analyzing and updating existing documentation.
- Demonstrate ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content.
- Ability to deliver high quality documentation that includes a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation.
