Our client is looking to bring aboard a full-time AI Research Scientist to join their fast-growing, profitable team focused on applying machine learning and data science to energy markets to accelerate the clean energy transition. The role involves applied research in forecasting and decision-making under uncertainty, aiming to improve energy market modeling and contribute to academic research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and develop new machine learning techniques for energy market forecasting.
- Stay updated on ML advancements and assess their relevance to electricity markets.
- Design and analyze experiments for new ML models.
- Promote rigorous statistical testing and probabilistic thinking within the company.
- Mentor ML engineers and contribute to academic publications.
- Write and optimize performant, readable code in Python.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- PhD in ML, statistics, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in machine learning research.
- Strong publication record in top ML conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML).
- Expertise in probability, statistics, and algorithms.
- Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and mentorship skills.
- Prior knowledge of the energy industry is a plus.
