What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Manager position at Richard Wolf Medical Instruments?
Responsible for leading, owning, and managing the new production of products, and repairs on products produced within assigned Production Department(s), in a continuous improvement / lean environment. Manages all facets of manufacturing in the department and maintains and reports on the KPI's for the department. Additional responsibilities center on mentoring and developing team members.
REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Establishes capacity planning and implements realistic production and repair rates while continuing to drive a lean environment with the production teams.
- Proposes, justifies and implements process improvements / cost reductions. Performs written follow-up to confirm benefits or improvements have been realized.
- Closely monitors part requirements, inventory and safety stock levels to ensure on-time delivery per commitments.
- Closely works with the Demand & Inventory Planning Manager, and the Purchasing Department, to ensure parts are ordered in a timely manner and received on time.
- Proactively collaborates with Quality Control Department on production-related problems and proposed / required changes.
- Fervently addresses CAPA's and non-conformances to ensure on-time completion per applicable SOP's.
- Proactively identifies product / process changes and effectively process through ECO / ECN change process. Assumes ownership responsibility / accountability through sign-off and training of required personnel.
- Actively participates and contributes to complaint investigations with Product Surveillance team.
- Actively participates with MRB (Material Review Board).
- Closely collaborates with Project Management on Production Transfer Initiatives.
- Establishes and writes DMRs for new production items.
- Develops, edits and maintains departmental SOPs.
- Identifies, develops, implements and communicates department KPI's / Shop Floor Management (SFM), empowering team members to favorably effect outcomes.
- Develops succession plan for current staff and new hires through training as well as integrating cross training.
- Conducts and arranges training programs and documentation for employees.
- Promotes, implements and tracks cross training across production, repairs and testing within the affiliated department.
- Develops annual department expense and capital budget. Performs monthly reviews to ensure budgets are kept within approved plan.
