General Maintenance Worker
Rate of Pay $24.00 to $28.00 per hour
FLSA Status: Non- Exempt
We are seeking a Full-Time General Maintenance Worker
responsible for completing general maintenance and repairs for Richcroft homes and facilities including but not limited to, appliance repair, basic plumbing, basic electrical, basic carpentry, painting and junk removal. Richcroft currently has homes in Howard, Harford, Carroll and Baltimore Counties. One maintenance worker oversees a group of homes and assists with other groups as a team when needed.
This position is :
Monday through Friday 8am- 4pm
(On call duty rotation and overtime if necessary)
Job Responsibilities:
Administrative
Inspections forms completed on time
Weekly Planning Sheets for the work week planning
Work Notes that will include a list of non ICM work orders to complete as well as any problems or delays with current work orders
Ability to handle the accounting of receipts and purchases
Facilitates Inspection walks with Housing Authorities
Coordinates with contractors for work projects or repairs
Ability to use Work Order system on phone, tablet and computer.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Solid communication, writing and interpersonal skills
Required Skills/Abilities
Perform assigned repairs, emergency, and preventative maintenance. Complete maintenance and repair records as required. Examples; include repairing drywall, painting, plumbing leaks, toilet replacement, laundry duct cleaning, one story gutter cleaning, power washing, assembling furniture, junk removal and appliance repairs.
Inspects homes for general repairs and troubleshoot issues.
Complete quarterly and annual inspection forms.
Must maintain the work truck in a clean and professional manner. Schedule all vehicle maintenance in a timely manner.
Performs routine maintenance on residential systems.
Leaves all work areas in a clean and professional manner.
Orders parts and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
Respond quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance if needed.
Ability to follow instructions
Willingness to learn new skills
Ability to work alone and in a team environment.
Knowledge of painting, general carpentry and repair.
Ability to operate and use necessary manual and power-driven tools.
On call duty rotation and overtime if necessary
Passion for creative problem solving.
Patient and courteous in working with staff and individuals with disabilities.
Collaborate with team and other contract professionals.
Ability to drive company maintenance truck. No more than 2 points on driver’s license.
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree required.
A minimum of 2 years of maintenance and painting related experience necessary
Knowledge of appliance maintenance preferred.
Ability to organize and prioritize work; willingness to work beyond a standard workweek as needed and to assist with team efforts in other areas of HR as needed.
Working condition:
Prolonged periods driving, standing and walking.
Must be physically able to bend, or stoop and crawl into awkward spaces.
Climb ladders and stairs
Must be able to work indoor and outdoor
Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more.
