Job Summary
At Richelieu Foods we are making Great Food from Great People. We are looking for a Machine Operator 2 who ensures that production requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner by completing essential duties based on the production schedule.
Machine Operator 2 will operate various pieces of equipment within the food production facility. Duties include proper machine set-up, monitoring quality and speed of line. Additional tasks will include housekeeping, sanitation, machine reset, troubleshooting for solutions, inspection of irregularities of imperfections or of quality concerns. Ensures that the final product is to standard.
Essential Functions
- Setup, calibrate, monitor, run and troubleshoot to ensure efficient performance of Level C machinery: Back-Up Flow Wrapper, Elliott Cartoner, Deville, PC (Process Control), Sauce Mixer, IPAK, Case Packer Back-up. Machinery with simple PLC mechanisms and/or more complex machinery compared to Level A- MO3.
- Identify all finished products accurately and verify that the final product meets quality standards.
- Communicate immediately to Production Supervisor any situations which may affect the quality of product or are unsafe.
- Ensures equipment is functioning properly and assists maintenance techs in performing repairs and adjustments, as needed.
- Checks daily production schedule and records raw material needs and handles changes.
- Confirms that adequate supplies of raw materials are ready and available.
- Certifies that pizzas are centered on main lugs and adjusts, as needed.
- Conducts visual inspections, identifying any problems and contacting maintenance for repair.
- Completes all end of shift duties as outlined in our SOPs.
- Follow all PPE/GMP requirements ensures that operation complies with GMP’s, safety, quality, and SOPs.
- Maintains work area clean and sanitary.
- Perform all checks, records, and modify equipment to ensure correct product operational ranges are maintained.
- Able to adjust equipment as necessary during the production run when authorized.
- Able to disassemble & assemble the equipment and prepare for cleaning.
- Participate in functional training of co-workers as necessary to maintain efficiency and coverage during operation.
- Complete all required reports, documentation, etc.
- Supports the Production Supervisor and performs other duties that are assigned.
- Must be able to work with a flexible schedule, this includes weekend shift coverage.
Essential Skills and Abilities
- Results-oriented, detail oriented, team collaboration, and great communicator.
- Analytical skills and good basic mathematical aptitude required.
- Experience using an ERP system.
- Excellent communication and the ability to interact with all Plant Leaders.
- Strong knowledge of food manufacturing
Education/Certification
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience
- Previous experience operating food manufacturing machinery.
