About Us:
We are a well-establishedophthalmology practice in St. George, Utah, seeking a dedicated and compassionate Optometrist to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside experienced ophthalmologists and provide high-quality eye care to our community.
Job Summary
The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive eye care services, including vision exams, diagnosis of eye diseases, and treatment plans. The Optometrist will work closely with patients to ensure their ocular health and visual needs are met while maintaining a high standard of patient care.
Duties
- Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and diagnose ocular conditions.
- Prescribe corrective lenses and other treatments as necessary.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients on proper eye care, including contact lens fitting and usage.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic patient care.
- Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies.
- Assist with optical sales by recommending appropriate eyewear based on patient needs.
- Provide pediatric eye care services when necessary, ensuring a comfortable experience for younger patients.
Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid state license to practice optometry.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to eye health.
- Experience with electronic medical records systems is preferred.
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on empathy and communication.
- Familiarity with optical products and sales techniques is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
