As a VSAC Outreach Counselor with our GEAR UP and GEAR UP after high school programs you’ll have an opportunity to help students explore the possibilities their future can hold and help them create a plan to get there. This position will work with GEAR UP students at Richford Middle and High schools in Richford, VT. This is a full-time, in-person position, working 47 weeks per year, 5 weeks off in the summer, with an October 2024 start date.
This position works with middle through first year after high school students and their families within a specific geographical region to provide education, career, and financial aid information and counseling in support of postsecondary education goals. This position will also support students through the transition process from high school into and through their first year of postsecondary education. The right candidate will work with Richford Middle and High School to cultivate their college and career going culture.
Qualifications include but are not limited to a combination of education and experience including Master’s degree in counseling, education or related field or equivalent combination of administrative or management experience and other education.

Applicants must have a valid driver’s license verified by a Motor Vehicle Record Report, a properly inspected, registered, and insured motor vehicle for business use, and provide their own workspace, including internet access. To work in Vermont’s public school’s applicants must successfully complete a criminal background check. Driving a motor vehicle is required as a regular part of this position.
This is a grant funded position that is contingent upon continued grant funds.

Salary : $50,000 - $52,000
