What are the responsibilities and job description for the Land Use Inspector position at Richland County Government?
Under general supervision, performs technical and professional work in the enforcement of local ordinances concerning zoning and land use in the Community Planning and Development Department. Work involves enforcing the Richland County Zoning Ordinance; assisting the public with any questions related to zoning; map amendments; determining if land uses are compliant with the Zoning Ordinance; site inspections and postings for map amendments and/or cases for the Board of Zoning Appeals. Employee must exercise independent judgment and attention to detail in all phases of work. Employee must also exercise good customer service when dealing with contractors, landowners and the general public. Reports directly to the Deputy Zoning Administrator.
