Role:
This role will report to the Vice President of Sales and will play a pivotal role in bridging technical expertise with customer needs. This newly created position will require active participation in sales calls and proposal preparation, serving as a valuable resource in co-development projects and creating materials to support customer engagement while demonstrating Richland’s capabilities to deliver exceptional value within the life science markets. This role will ensure seamless delivery of technical, operational, and strategic solutions to meet customer demands and drive business growth.
Environment:
- Wide-ranging from corporate office to manufacturing floor presence.
- Travel as required – 75 % expected
Key Responsibilities:
- Cultivate new customer accounts by identifying opportunities within OEM and end-user applications of specialty precision glass components used in the medical device and life science markets.
- Collaborate with the sales team to effectively present solutions to client needs.
- Utilize technical expertise to assist clients and internal technical service team members with the co-development of new products.
- Introduce existing products and capabilities to new clients that solve an existing need or deliver added value through operational efficiencies.
- Deepen relationships with clients by traveling to and meeting with key stakeholders.
- Leverage sales and operational teams to support quoting, order fulfillment, and project management.
- Track engagement and client development within the company’s CRM, then analyze data to ensure the attainment of KPIs.
- Remain on the leading edge of industry trends, customer needs, and advancements in glass manufacturing technologies.
- Travel as required.

- Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify, and close sales with a consultative, solutions-based approach.
- Deep technical understanding that allows for outside-the-box problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and analysis of data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite and sales software (MAGI experience preferred)
- Proven sales experience that meets or exceeds goals.
- Flexibility to travel as needed to be a customer-facing company representative.
Other Job Requirements:
- Adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Able to sit, stand, bend, lift, reach, grasp, type, and communicate effectively in English. Multi-lingual helpful but not required.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or process engineering with 3-5 years of sales experience or 5-plus years of experience as a sales engineer within the life science markets.
