Girls Basketball Coach (Junior High & High School)

Job Summary:

Richland School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Girls Basketball Coach for both the junior high and high school teams. The coach will be responsible for developing players’ skills, fostering teamwork, and promoting a positive and competitive environment. The ideal candidate will emphasize sportsmanship, discipline, and personal growth while striving for athletic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and lead team practices, conditioning, and game strategies.
• Teach fundamental basketball skills and advanced techniques.
• Supervise athletes during practices, games, and travel.
• Promote a positive and inclusive team culture.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration.
• Ensure compliance with school, district, and state athletic regulations.
• Coordinate with the athletic director regarding scheduling, budgeting, and program needs.
• Serve as a role model by demonstrating good sportsmanship, leadership, and professionalism.

Qualifications:

• Previous coaching or playing experience in basketball (preferred).
• Knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, and player development.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Must pass a background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience coaching at the junior high or high school level.
• Experience working with student-athletes in an educational setting.
