We are professional, agile, challenging and our goal is to maintain security and discipline in the facility by managing actions of prisoners incarcerated, intervening to stop disturbances, enforcement of facility rule violations, conducting searches and inspections, surveillance of all inmates, taking custody of and releasing inmates, serving inmate meals, admitting visitors, preparing reports, and other required paperwork; and such other duties as may be assigned from time to time..
Our organization is looking for Correctional Officers to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong interest in law enforcement and has the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people. Correctional Officers are responsible for providing protection, order and discipline through surveillance, search and security procedures as well as other security related activities. Additionally, the right candidate may need to assist with the management of group activities, inmate programming and special projects as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Move inmates to different locations within a facility.
- Interact with a diverse group of people.
- Communicate with inmate groups in a courteous and professional manner.
- Enforce rules and procedures governing the use of items such as commissary items and electronic equipment.
- Be at work on time and be able to work 12 hour shifts, days and nights.
- Enforce rules and procedures governing the use of items such as commissary items and electronic equipment.
- Understand laws governing inmates' rights.
- Be able to read and write at a level required for understanding manuals, records, and reports.
- Must be able to work days, nights, and weekends. Shift rotations is as followed: Month of day followed by month of nights.
- Full-time positions only at this time.
- Must live in the intermediate area at the time of applying.
