What are the responsibilities and job description for the Academic Recovery Teacher (2025-26 School Year) position at Richland School District?
Minimum Qualifications & Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree, including all courses necessary to meet credential requirements.
- Valid California teaching credential authorizing service in grade levels and areas assigned.
- Prior teaching experience preferred.
- Must have knowledge of the academic content and performance standards adopted by the State Board of Education.
- Must meet highly qualified teacher requirements.
- Must have ELL authorization.
- Must be able to work effectively with administrators, staff, parents, and community.
- Works with students and supports the classroom teacher in providing effective math instruction.
- Assists in implementing and monitoring of the math curriculum.
- Assists with the selection of appropriate math resources related to the identified needs of students.
- Models and assists teachers in the provision of appropriate intensive intervention instruction for struggling students, including those who are limited English proficient.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of multiple subject matter.
- Communicates high learning expectations for all students.
- Applies principles of learning and effective teaching in instructional delivery.
- Uses a variety of instructional strategies appropriate for teaching students from diverse backgrounds with different learning styles and special needs and which enhance the application of critical, creative, and evaluative thinking capabilities.
- Uses appropriate material, technology, and other resources to help meet the learning needs of all students.
- Provides and models for teachers the appropriate instructional modification for students with special needs, including exceptional education students and students who have limited English proficiency.
- Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff and administration.
- Serves as a resource for instructional staff and administrators.
- Participates in collaborative grade-level meetings to assist in the analysis and utilization of assessment data to improve student learning.
- Provides accurate and timely information to parents and students about the academic performance of students.
- Collaborates with peers and other professionals to enhance student learning.
- Updates the principal and teachers on the latest trends in the area of math instruction.
- Models for teachers the latest techniques for the prevention and remediation of math problems.
- Models effective teaching strategies and techniques.
- Plans and provides research-based best practices by providing staff development for TK-6th grade.
- Participates in school data collection of student math assessments.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality and discretion when working with teachers.
- Maintains a positive, organized, and safe learning environment.
- Uses time effectively and maintains a daily log.
- Enforces school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
