What are the responsibilities and job description for the STEM Teacher (2025-26 School Year) position at Richland School District?
Minimum Qualifications & Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree, including all courses needed to meet credential requirements.
- Valid California teaching credential authorizing service in grade levels and areas assigned.
- Possess a working knowledge of technology in schools such as augmented reality, General AI, Animation, Digital Arts, and Coding.
- Must meet highly qualified teacher requirements.
- Must have ELL authorization.
- Must be able to work effectively with administrators, staff, students, parents, and community.
- Designs, implements, and adapts STEM curriculum aligned with state and district standards.
- Creates hands-on, inquiry-based lessons to engage students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
- Integrates technology, coding, robotics, and other STEM-related tools into daily instruction.
- Differentiates instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with special needs and advanced abilities.
- Collaborates with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary lessons and projects.
- Works with school staff to promote STEM initiatives and events, such as science fairs and coding clubs.
- Assists staff in addressing issues and concerns related to the use and implementation of technology.
- Models effective use of STEM in and out of classrooms for teachers and students.
- Provides training and support to staff in the use of technology for professional and instructional tools.
- Engages students in differentiated learning experiences appropriate to their skill level and developmental needs.
- Meets regularly with staff to assess needs of students.
- Provides Instruction in the proper use of tools, materials and equipment, ensuring safe use.
- Provides training to staff related to STEM best practices, using NGSS and CCSS.
- Maintains accurate student records.
- Stays abreast of current research regarding STEM education including digital art, animation, and computer coding.
- Fosters partnerships with community organizations and businesses to enhance STEM opportunities for students.
