Job Summary
The Manager of Special Projects oversees and manages Special Projects matters and structural claims from initiation through completion and closeout. Actively oversee and manage claims evaluation and resolution.
Responsibilities
- Provides project leadership and has overall responsibility for the success of projects. Responsible for running multiple projects concurrently and determining priorities.
- Actively involved in claims evaluation, claims administration, and managing relationships with engineers and construction trades. Interfaces with claimants, warranty and claim administrators, engineers, trade partners, attorneys, and other parties. Coordinates with company stakeholders.
- Receives and schedules initiation meetings and evaluations and subsequent meetings and activities. Ensures prompt communications with parties. Attends all essential meetings and evaluations.
- Prepares project estimates and monitors and manages all costs and budgets. Retains qualified subcontractors and suppliers. Evaluates subcontractor and supplier proposals and negotiates price, scope and performance.
- Reads and is familiar with construction and contract documents and changes.
- Oversees project construction and work. Ensures that project schedules are maintained, updated, and communicated.
- Actively participates during preconstruction phase of projects to ensure effective construction methods are implemented. Performs regular jobsite observations and reviews. Performs project closeout.
- Prepares, submits and reviews with management, claims status reports, project progress reports and financial expenditures and projections.
- Makes informed and timely decisions for the success of both individual projects and the overall organization.
Requirements
- Five years of experience in project management, construction and customer services required.
- Prior claims evaluation and claims administration experience required.
- Good negotiation skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Prior reconstruction experience beneficial.

Compensation
- Base Salary: $115,000 - $130,000
- FLSA Status: Exempt
- Bonus Type: Year End Discretionary
