What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Manager and Veterinary Technician position at Richmond Animal Hospital?
Seeking an experienced veterinary technician who is ready to move their career to the next level. The assistant manager will still be utilizing their skills as a veterinary technician, while assisting with management tasks such as training, scheduling, inventory and ordering. The assistant manager will also have the opportunity to learn about all things management related; including organizing and running staff meetings, staff recognition, dealing with staff conflict or injury, reviews, interviews, hiring, protocols, etc. The assistant manager will cover for the other managers during vacations.
We have an excellent team of technicians and assistants with 5 part time doctors, in the beautiful town of Richmond. Our doctors have a variety of specialties and interests including acupuncture, dentistry, wildlife and cytology. General technician responsibilities include client education, animal handling, venipuncture, lab work, radiographs, surgical monitoring, administering drugs, assisting with dental procedures and dental radiographs.
One great thing about working here; is along with working with cats and dogs; you will also have the opportunity to work with wildlife, which we do pro bono. We have had a variety of birds, including owls, hawks and eagles, as well as foxes, raccoons, opossums and more.
We are interested in creating a schedule that works for you, and we provide a competitive salary and benefits package. Salary is commensurate with previous experience. Shifts are 9-10 hours, 4 days a week. No weekends!
