What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housing Specialist position at Richmond Behavioral Health Authority?
Richmond Behavioral Health-North Campus is hiring a Housing Specialist to join our team at the North Campus! The selected individuals will perform intermediate professional work assessing client needs, developing, implementing and monitoring service delivery and assistance plans, coordinating and monitoring services with other agencies, counseling and assisting clients, maintaining records and files, preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the assigned supervisor.
Essential Functions
Complete thorough housing barrier assessment and housing plan for each program participant.
Assist program participants with process of obtaining appropriate housing subsidy
Assist program participants with locating and securing permanent housing. Act as liaison between program participants, landlords, and case management staff.
Collaborate with clinical staff on a regular basis regarding program participants.
Collaborate with landlords on a regular basis regarding program participants.
Actively outreach and recruit landlords and provide appropriate information about programs and services.
Monitor and facilitate moves/relocation of program participants
Completes intakesfor housing for individuals in SUD treatment at North Campus
Assist with closure/termination of tenants when appropriate
Monitor status of program participants and housing stability and collaborate with partner agency case managers, Lead BHT, Program Supervisor and landlord as appropriate
Act as resource for all North Campus programs case managers at RBH regarding assisting program participants with locating affordable housing.
Serves as liaison to public agencies and provides information regarding Authority programs and services.
Prepares a variety of reports; prepares and maintains program participant charts and other records.
Attends meetings, staffing’s and conferences as they relate to program participants, staff and program needs.
Collect data to satisfy program requirements.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Provides recovery support, coaching and outreach services to current and potential clients in the field; provides peer coach orientations.
Represents and promotes Authority services and programs to community partners; serves as liaison between clients, service providers and Authority staff.
Provides motivational prompting and informational support to clients; encourages and provides positive reinforcement and support to clients.
Assist clients with the development of professional resumes and employment applications.
Conducts individual sessions with each client regarding progress, recovery and post treatment.
May train clients on use of electronic devices including computers, laptops, smartphones and tablets; trains clients on basic and intermediate computer software.
Directs clients to available community resources related to recovery, social services and employment opportunities; maintains current knowledge of available resources; identifies community areas that may benefit from outreach efforts.
May prepare and submit project status reports; prepare project agendas for activities and meetings; enter assessment data; maintain client insurance information; maintain client files, in accordance with special grant requirements.
Performs intake duties for clients; monitors and maintains satisfactory intake and follow up percentages.
If applicable, will bill for Peer and related Services.
May monitor facility and grounds and individual whereabouts in residential treatment environments as assigned.
Work with all units on North Campus to ensure appropriate housing of Residents. (Men’s Women’s and HOPE).
Collects rent payments from Residents and submit to RBH Finance.
Ensures weekly UDSs are completed and recorded.
Inform Program Manager of all required appliances or equipment that are needed to be replaced.
Researches and posts all information related to client progression; relays information to Case Managers and Clinicians relating to client’s progression or digression.
Attends staff meetings as required; assists with Authority functions by setting up rooms as needed.
