What are the responsibilities and job description for the Peer Recovery Specialist- SBIRT position at Richmond Behavioral Health Authority?
The Richmond Behavioral Health Authority is seeking a full time Peer Recovery Specialist to join our Team. The successful candidate will perform intermediate skilled human support work involving the assessment of client needs and providing access to needed and appropriate services including treatment, rehabilitation and service linkage, case monitoring and client advocacy functions, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the assigned Program Supervisor.
Essential Functions
- Provides support through the transportation-encouragement-role model.
- Facilitates peer recovery support group meetings; documents in EHR
- Develops wellness recovery action plan with consumers; develops a plan of care appropriate to the evaluation with the client/family consensus; assists clients in developing recovery goals.
- Monitors and assesses client’s behavioral health status; provides supportive counseling as needed.
- Provides crisis intervention services.
- Arranges and provides transportation for clients to appointments, grocery stores, offices, etc; takes clients on social outings.
- Provides documentation of services; provides group notes; maintains medical records.
- Develops staff and client schedules.
- Attends training and team meetings as required.
