What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Medical Assistant-RICH position at Richmond Behavioral Health?
The Richmond Behavioral Health Authority is seeking to hire a compassioniate and energetic Certified Medical Assistant to join our RICH Clinic. The successful applicant will perform intermediate skilled human support work maintaining the safety of clients, monitoring clients that may present with special needs, coordinating medical/wellness appointments with internal as well as external medical providers and other specialized settings; encouraging clients to adhere to medication and other treatment requirements; and related work as apparent or assigned. Is responsible for the coordination of specific health services under the supervision of qualified nursing staff. Other work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Team Leader, Program Supervisor or Program Manager.
Essential Functions
Administers medication to clients in accordance with agency policy and standard medication protocol; documents reasons why prescribed drugs are not administered;
Takes vital signs of clients and observes client to detect response to specified medications;
Completes urinalyses (observing urine samples, testing onsite and/or packaging for laboratory.,
Assists with PAPs or other exams, gives injections, gives other in-office treatments (e.g., nebulizer treatment);
Ensures that an appropriate level of medical supplies and equipment are available for use by clients;
Reviews all medical/wellness requests made by clients to ensure that services have been appropriately coordinated;
Prepares and maintains clinical documentation in the electronic health record and completes progress notes; completes shift reports in a timely manner;
Facilitates and leads activities; engages clients;
Maintains the safety and cleanliness of the clinic; and
Performs filing duties and provides directions.
