POSITION: ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICE CLASS I & II
REPORTS TO: Building Principal & Environmental Service Head Class I
SUMMARY:
191 Days or 260 Days
Salary based on Richmond Community Schools Classified Contractual Salary Schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Continuously observe for any unsafe or hazardous conditions.
Care and cleaning of all mechanical equipment.
Preventative maintenance assignments.
Replacing and cleaning of light bulbs and tubes.
Operating and maintaining power equipment such as mower, snowplow, snow blower, and trimmers.
Window washing.
Floor care; stripping, waxing and mopping.
Restroom and shower room maintenance.
Trash removal.
Painting.
All related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 30 days experience.
Must have a telephone.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Good oral communication with supervisors, co-workers, building principal.
Occasional written communication.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Basic math skills with regard to measuring cleaning supplies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Good hand eye coordination is important for safe productive operations. Job involves the ability to operate large equipment to small tools in which manipulative skills are very important. Position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, color perception, sense of smell, depth perception, and texture perception.
While performing this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, bend, stretch, push, pull, kneel, crouch and lift or move objects without restrictions.
Must be able to use hand strength to grasp tools and climb ladders.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Task may require infrequent exposure to adverse environmental conditions, wet or humid conditions, dust or pollen, intense noise, vibrations, odors, moving mechanical parts, and caustic chemicals.
The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Duties are performed indoors and outdoors.
HAZARDS:
Possible exposure to Blood Borne Pathogens, bodily fluids and hazardous chemicals.
