What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Health Assistant position at Richmond County Government?
The Richmond County Health Department is recruiting a Community Health Assistant to work in the Laboratory as well as Health Department clinics. In the Lab, primary duties will include but are not limited to performing phlebotomy procedures as directed by providers and lab manager and approved by CLIA; performing routine and specialized tests; preparing specimens to be sent to the NC State Lab and LabCorp or other test sites used by the department; recording testing information; keeping accurate inventory; and ordering supplies. All duties will be performed under the direction of the lab manager as approved by CLIA regulation.
Clinical work will involve rotating through the various clinics offered by the Health Department, setting up rooms for procedures, stocking rooms, assisting providers with exams, entering data into the NCEDSS system with public health, ordering supplies or other duties as directed by the Director of Nursing.
Education: High School diploma is required. At least one year of lab experience and phlebotomy experience is required.
Salary: $30,435-31,893 per year plus many local government benefits.
