The Administrator is responsible for the overall management and operations of the Gastrointestinal Ambulatory Surgery Center (GI ASC), ensuring high standards of clinical quality, patient safety, and operational efficiency. This role involves overseeing clinical, administrative, and financial functions, fostering a collaborative team environment, and driving business growth while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities :
1 . Operations Management :
o Oversee the daily operations of the ASC, ensuring efficiency in both clinical and administrative services specific to gastrointestinal health care.
o Lead initiatives to optimize workflows, improve labor efficiencies, and ensure resource availability.
o Collaborate with staff and leadership to implement best practices and improve facility performance.
2. Clinical Quality & Patient Safety :
o Ensure adherence to clinical guidelines and protocols, promoting standardized care to optimize patient outcomes.o Foster a culture of patient safety, continuously evaluating and improving processes to reduce risks and enhance care quality.
o Monitor compliance with infection control and safety protocols, ensuring the facility meets regulatory standards.
3. Team Leadership & Development :
o Lead, mentor, and develop a top-performing team of clinical and administrative professionals.
o Manage clinical staff (e.g., physicians, nurses, anesthesia providers) and administrative staff (e.g., front desk, billing, and records) to ensure adequate staffing and high-quality patient care.
o Provide leadership and development opportunities to staff, promoting continuous improvement and professional growth.
4. Compliance & Regulatory Oversight :
o Ensure the ASC complies with all federal, state, and local regulations, including CMS, TJC, and AAAHC standards.
o Prepare the ASC for regulatory audits and address any compliance issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
o Stay updated on regulatory changes and adjust processes accordingly to maintain compliance.
5. Financial & Budgetary Oversight :
o Manage the ASC’s financial operations, including budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation.
o Monitor labor costs, expenditures, and billing practices to ensure financial stability and adherence to budgetary constraints.
o Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate billing, collections, and financial reporting.
6. Business Development & Growth :
o Collaborate with physicians and healthcare providers to maintain and expand referral networks.
o Market GI ASC services to potential patients and referring providers, analyzing market trends to identify growth opportunities.
o Drive initiatives to enhance the patient experience, ensuring high satisfaction and quality of care.
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare operations or management, preferably in an outpatient surgery center or similar setting.
- Experience managing staff in a healthcare setting, preferably within a gastrointestinal (GI) or surgical environment.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations (CMS, TJC, AAAHC) and accreditation standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills to interact with patients, physicians, and staff.
- Thorough understanding of electronic health records (EHR) systems and revenue cycle management.
