Environmental Services Supervisor

Job Overview
The Environmental Services Supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within healthcare or commercial facilities. This position is responsible for overseeing the custodial staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and implementing effective cleaning protocols. The ideal candidate will have experience in environmental services, particularly in hospital or commercial settings, and possess strong leadership skills to manage a team effectively.

Duties

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the environmental services team to ensure high standards of cleanliness and sanitation are met.
• Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures that comply with OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
• Train staff on proper cleaning techniques, use of equipment, and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Conduct regular inspections of facilities to assess cleanliness, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with established standards.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring availability while maintaining budgetary constraints.
• Collaborate with other departments to address specific cleaning needs and ensure a seamless operation within the facility.
• Respond promptly to any cleaning emergencies or special requests from management or other departments.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations related to environmental services and safety practices.
• Experience in hospital or commercial cleaning environments with a focus on sanitation standards.
• Proficient in custodial practices including floor care, waste management, and general cleaning techniques.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team effectively while fostering a positive work environment.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure high-quality standards are consistently met.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with staff at all levels as well as other departments.
