What are the responsibilities and job description for the Meat Cutter position at Richmond Market & Beverage?
AGS Vermont, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Associated Grocers of New England, Inc., operates supermarkets in New Hampshire and Vermont. Customers shopping these stores find the most personalized, friendly service with the highest quality food products. We are currently looking for a Meat Cutter in our Richmond Market & Beverage store, who has an understanding of the Meat, cleanliness, and safety.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Customer Service skills
- Perform meat cutting functions; includes scraping and packaging in trays products, cubing steaks, grinding ground meats and cutting and processing meat according to Company standards and policies
- Perform cutting responsibilities as directed
- Comply with established procedures, practices, sales, safety and security according to A.G. Supermarkets, Inc. policies
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned to meet business objectives
- Follow or help instill Food Safety practices and procedures at all times
- All product must be properly rotated at all times. Including refrigerated, non-refrigerated, and freezer items
- Ensure department shelving and display units are maintained, cleaned and organized. This includes ensuring all products are tagged and/or labeled properly.
- Vacuum pack items as needed
- Label packages according to COOL, USDA and company standards and policies
- Identify, wrap, price, and weigh all department items per Company standards and policies
- Maintain proper labeling of all department items, including proper listing of ingredients and Company code/date policies
- Observe temperatures of coolers, cases, freezer, and report failures to management promptly
- Strictly adhere to all safety, health, weight and measure regulations
- Wash, rinse and sanitize all cases, wrap stations/area, scaling equipment, cooler, and cutting room, including disassembling and re-assembling equipment
- Responsible for ensuring clean equipment, tables, floors, grinders, coolers and production areas as required to exceed Food Safety requirements
- Receive any meat deliveries, code, rotate, and put in appropriate storage areas
- Stock the fresh and frozen products using proper rotation procedures
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Computer Knowledge
- Meat background preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of customers, employees and management.
- Ability to prioritize work tasks, multi-task and maintain focus
- Must have flexible schedule availability
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is performed in a typical retail work environment
- Ability to lift weights up to 50 lbs (20-40) lifting frequency
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work in different control climate
