What are the responsibilities and job description for the Produce Clerk position at Richmond Market & Beverage?
AGS Vermont, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Associated Grocers of New England, Inc., operates supermarkets in New Hampshire and Vermont. Customers shopping these stores find the most personalized, friendly service with the highest quality food products. We are currently looking for a Full-time and Part-time Produce Clerks in our Richmond Market location, who is interested in gaining experience with all different fruits and vegetables and learning all aspects of merchandising, cleanliness, and safety.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Customer Service skills
- Responsible for assisting the Manager in ensuring proper receiving, unloading, storage, and rotation of merchandise and building of displays
- Ensure displays are replenished, rotated, culled several times daily
- Properly rotate all product, pulling outdated items from shelves immediately
- Help ensure department signage and shelf tags are always present and reflecting correct pricing information
- Observe temperatures of coolers, cases, freezer, and report failures to management promptly
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned to meet business objectives
- Comply with established procedures, practices, sales, safety and security according to A.G. Supermarkets, Inc. policies
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Computer Knowledge
- Produce background preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of customers, employees and management.
- Ability to prioritize work tasks, multi-task and maintain focus
- Must have flexible schedule availability
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is performed in a typical retail work environment
- Ability to lift weights up to 50 lbs (20-40) lifting frequency
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work in different control climate
