General Description : The general maintenance groundskeeper helps ensure that all RPS buildings' and schools' grounds are appropriately maintained throughout the year to both increase the longevity of the property and athletic facilities / fields, and to ensure that RPS buildings and grounds are an aesthetically pleasing part of the community.
Essential Duties :
- Completes grounds work to include grass cutting, trimming, weed pulling / spraying, removal of large weeds and bushes, tree pruning, and shrub trimming
- Ensures athletic fields and facilities are maintained including mowing fields, seeding and aerating the surface of fields, and determining and watering solutions
- Maintains synthetic athletic surfaces to include repairing compactions and reinforcing seams for safety
- Grades roadways, applying gravel as needed, and grades the riding rings
- Removes trash or debris from grounds
- Provides assistance for athletic events including marking athletic fields for games and setting up goals
- Provides assistance in preparation for school-based events which include use of outdoor spaces
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and minor carpentry work
- Performs other duties as assigned
