What are the responsibilities and job description for the Highway Crewman -Traffic Control position at Richmond Traffic Control, Inc.?
- Distributes traffic control cones, barrels, arrow boards etc. along roadside or other designated areas
- Directs traffic using signs
- Operates company vehicles, including those with truck mounted attenuators
- Completes Pre/Post Trip Inspection forms, Time Cards, and all other documentation legibly and on time
- Arrives to work on time and possesses or is able to arrange reliable transportation
- Acts as professional representative of the company
- Other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED preferable
- VDOT Flagger Certification preferable but will train
- Knowledge of traffic control process preferable but will train
- English language, reading writing and speaking skills
- Creative problem solving skills
- Ability to take direction either written or oral
Physical Requirements: * Subject to excessive periods of sitting, standing, bending, and walking
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs
- Ability to lift repetitively 20 lbs
- Will be exposed to excessive heat, cold and road/construction noise
- Long hours and overtime will be required
- May be required to work varied shift schedule
Reliable transportation required
