POSITION SUMMARY
Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion, this position is responsible for receipt and cold storage of products in a warehouse facility. Responsible for the unloading, safe movement, accurate placement and receiving documentation of cold/frozen perishables awaiting worldwide distribution.
Preparation of cold product shipments in accordance with specific/detailed customer requirements. Selects, verifies, palletizes and/or loads quality controlled and inspected (USDA/USDC) products to meet the designated time requirements for worldwide transportation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Includes the following. Other Duties may be assigned
- Identify opportunities for increased efficiencies through strategic planning and coordinating inbound product to outbound orders, warehouse put-away, and container utilization.
- Receipt of product according to company SOP’s, standards of food safety, quality and all other department related tasks.
- Accurately count product, compare product to Purchase Order and supplier’s Bill of Lading, report any discrepancies (overages, shortages or damaged) to appropriate Purchaser and document discrepancies on Purchase Order.
- Receipt of seafood and shellfish according to company plan while completing appropriate form.
- Ensure product food safety and quality by opening one case per pallet and checking product for mold, condensation, off-orders, discoloration, freezer burn and exposed product.
- Cross-train in order to serve as backup to Shipping (i.e. pulling, checking, labeling, etc.) and operate all warehouse vehicles (transporter, forklift, and hostler) and equipment (wrappers, strappers, tippers, and tablets).
- Assign doors to incoming loads.
- Responsible for put away of all products

- Work safely to ensure production schedule is met
- Verify product labeling is accurate
- Communicate and coordinate each assigned task with Supervisor and Foreman
- Demonstrate working knowledge and ability to use xTuple and MS Outlook
- Decipher production dates or codes
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory reconciliation
- Responsible for maintaining clean work area and vehicles in designated location(s).

Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or five plus years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment
- The work environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled office setting. It is well-lit, and the noise level is moderate. Duties in the facilities will range between ambient temperature and ?10°F.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
