The Cloud Systems Administrator is responsible for managing, securing, and optimizing the bank's Cloud-based infrastructure, including Microsoft 365, Azure, and other Cloud services. This role ensures the security, availability, and compliance of Cloud systems in alignment with community banking regulations such as the FFIEC guidelines, FDIC, and other relevant regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, experience in managing Cloud environments, and a deep understanding of regulatory compliance within the financial services industry.
The Cloud Systems Administrator will play a strategic role in maintaining all Cloud systems including the front-end platforms, servers, storage, and management networks.

Essential Functions
- Cloud Infrastructure Management:
- Manage the bank's cloud-based infrastructure, primarily focusing on Microsoft 365, Azure, and other cloud services.
- Ensure high availability and performance of cloud systems, including email, document management (SharePoint), and communication tools (Teams).
- Administer user accounts, security permissions, and access controls in line with bank policies.
- Monitor and manage backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans for cloud services.
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement and maintain security best practices across cloud platforms, ensuring data protection, encryption, and secure authentication protocols (MFA).
- Ensure compliance with FFIEC, FDIC, and other applicable regulations governing data security, privacy, and IT risk management.
- Regularly review and audit cloud systems for vulnerabilities and respond promptly to security incidents.
- Work closely with compliance and audit teams to provide documentation and evidence for regulatory reviews and audits.
- Stay up to date with evolving regulatory requirements and ensure systems meet or exceed standards, including those related to cybersecurity and vendor management.
- Governance and Policy Enforcement:
- Develop, maintain, and enforce policies related to cloud usage, security, and data governance.
- Ensure data retention, data loss prevention (DLP), and records management policies are correctly configured and adhered to in cloud environments.
- Regularly review system logs, alerts, and reports for anomalies or non-compliance with internal or external regulations.
- Project Management and Implementation:
- Plan, coordinate, and implement cloud-based projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and new cloud solutions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and implement new cloud services that meet business needs and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure proper testing, documentation, and training are provided during cloud system implementations and upgrades.
- Vendor and Licensing Management:
- Manage relationships with cloud service providers (e.g., Microsoft, Azure) and ensure proper licensing and contract adherence.
- Coordinate with vendors to resolve any issues, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide technical support to employees for cloud-based tools and services, including Microsoft 365.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud systems, escalating complex problems when necessary.
Skills and Abilities
- Familiarity with cloud security practices, including data encryption, identity management (Active Directory), and multi-factor authentication.
- Experience with multiple Cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, etc.
- Expertise in Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, etc.) administration, deployment, and integration.
- Strong knowledge of VMWare, Hyper-V, Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, and networking.
- Experience with compliance frameworks (FFIEC, FDIC, Etc.) and data privacy regulations.
- Strong understanding of FFIEC guidelines, FDIC requirements, and IT risk management standards within the financial industry.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, audits, and compliance reviews while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various departments, including compliance, security, and operations.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- 3-5 years of experience in cloud systems administration with a strong focus on Microsoft 365 and Azure.
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry, preferably banking or financial services.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified, Microsoft 365 Certified, Azure Administrator Associate, or Enterprise Administrator Expert.
- Any certification related to financial services compliance is a plus. (e.g. Certified Information Systems Auditor CISA)
