We have an immediate need to fill the Shipping & Receiving Operator role. The Shipping and Receiving Operator interacts with the Customer Service department, to ensure customer requirements are met. Professional, proactive, and clear communication both internally and externally are a mandatory skillset in this role. Daily expectations for this role include accurate execution of incoming and outgoing materials/products, utilizing all Richwood and industry-standard record-keeping methods, including paper and electronic. These activities will occur while maintaining a safe and clean working environment, and safe work practices.
Richwood Industries is centrally located near the US 131 and 28th Street, allowing for an easy commute from the surrounding areas.
Position Responsibilities:
Receiving:
· Receive incoming shipments and compare items to P.O.’s provided, compare the amount and identification numbers of goods against P.O.’s.
· Count items, check sizes, to ensure that the correct item(s) has been received.
· Ascertain that all incoming and outgoing shipments are properly labeled and that correlating documents are available with each shipment.
· Safely unloading trucks and determining safe ways of stacking items in designated warehousing locations.
· Route products to departments.
· Working with Manufacturing peers, Production Supervisor and Plant Manager to determine storage areas for incoming shipments and allocate appropriate space within the warehouse.
Shipping:
· Study daily shipping orders to determine order picking activities and pick orders according to the specific instructions provided.
· Match order information with information on picked items to ensure conformity.
· Operate forklifts to pick materials and transport them to shipping areas.
· Ascertain the quantity of picked items and be the last gatekeeper for the quality of products.
· Ascertain the quality of packaging to ensure products are safely delivered to the customer.
· Loading trucks and determining safe ways of stacking items on the truck.
· Record damaged or defective items and replace them according to company policies.
· Compare the amount and identification numbers of goods against orders.
· Attach identifying information and delivery instructions on containers.
· Organize records of goods shipped.

Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Able to demonstrate basic math skills
· Hilo trained and current license
· Able to accurately read and process shipping / receiving documents
· Able to understand and follow required shipping / receiving documents
·Able to pass a thorough background check
·Able to pass drug and alcohol screen
Preferences:
· 3 - 5 years of experience in shipping / receiving systems
· Experience with reading and applying the information found on shipping / receiving documents
· Knows how to use various material handling equipment safely

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work near moving mechanical parts; regularly occurring Hilo traffic, inbound/outbound truck docks, and overhead door dock. Will be exposed to airborne particles (wood dust).
