Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up all assigned equipment, performing operational checks and making necessary adjustments using the Supply Chain Install/Return Checklist.
- Perform setups on advanced equipment, such as production gear.
- Program equipment to match specific customer requirements, following Customer Configuration Document (CCD) specifications, and potentially test new CCDs.
- Provide technical support and on-the-job training to other technicians and delivery/install drivers.
- Champion continuous quality and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Analyze and troubleshoot equipment failures, making necessary repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Complete all required administrative tasks accurately and promptly.
- Close jobs in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and track hours to manage productivity.
- Maintain control of company assets provided for completing required work.
- Follow all company training programs, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Manage the ordering of parts for repairs as assigned by management.
- Complete assigned training courses.
- Adhere to all facility security and safety rules.
- Serve as a backup to the shop supervisor/manager as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Mechanical/electronics trade school is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
- Demonstrated mastery of all shop technician competencies.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Professional demeanor and good work habits.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to lead and direct people effectively.
- Typically, a warehouse environment with adequate lighting, ventilation, and a normal range of temperature and noise levels.
- Diverse work assignments requiring interpretation, comprehension, and application of complex material, data, and instructions.
- Exposure to chemical solvents and cleaners.
- Physical effort required for lifting tool cases and assorted equipment weighing up to 75 pounds, as well as moving objects on wheels weighing up to 700 pounds.
- Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling to service equipment at floor level.
- Potential for overtime or work outside normal hours when necessary.
