Job Description:
The Delivery & Set Up Driver plays a critical role in the safe and efficient relocation of office equipment. This position involves not only transporting equipment but also ensuring its proper installation, networking, and configuration to meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivery & Setup: Safely transport and install office equipment at designated locations while maintaining compliance with federal DOT requirements and safety standards.
- Logbook Maintenance: Accurately maintain electronic and manual logbooks as per DOT regulations.
- Vehicle Inspections: Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with DOT and state laws.
- Pick-ups & Deliveries: Optimize routes to minimize costs by performing pick-ups during deliveries.
- Installation & Training: Execute basic installations, including setting up IP addresses, downloading print drivers, removing hard drives when required, backing up/uploading customer address books, and providing basic training on standalone and network printing devices.
- Safety & Productivity: Participate in Safety Programs and achieve expected productivity levels.
- Customer Support: Identify customer needs, provide solutions, or refer calls to the appropriate team.
- Process Improvement: Provide feedback to service and process teams regarding networking and installation improvements.
- Loading & Configuration: Ensure proper configuration and secure loading of equipment in the vehicle.
- Customer Signature: Capture electronic customer signatures upon transaction completion and process paperwork.
- Training & Development: Assist in training new Delivery Drivers on new products and proper loading techniques.
- Accident Reporting: Follow accident/incident reporting guidelines.
- Inventory Management: Conduct cycle counts and inventory reconciliation.
- Warehouse Operations: Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, stair climbers, and pallet jacks.
Required Experience:
- Minimum two years of medium-duty truck driving experience.
- Safe driving record and history.
- On-the-job training in networking and installation.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) if applicable per state regulations.
Essential Skills:
- Strong customer presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to handle oversized and overweight equipment safely.
- Proficiency with smartphones, tablets, and basic computer functions.
- Methodical problem-solving approach.
- Good reading, math, and writing skills.
- Warehouse equipment operation certification may be required.
Work Environment:
- Adherence to safe lifting and moving procedures to prevent injuries.
- Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling to service equipment at floor level.
- Lifting equipment up to 100 pounds and moving items up to 1,000 pounds.
- Work across multiple environments, including offices, warehouses, and trucks.
- Exposure to chemical solvents and cleaners.
- Ability to work independently.
