Job description

Ridder North America is seeking a Regional Sales Manager with extensive experience in the horticulture industry for the Central and Southeastern US. The Regional Sales Manager will achieve individual sales goals through a consultative selling model to include all active and developmental solutions offered within the Ridder portfolio. The Regional Sales Manager thoroughly understands customer (both dealers and end-users) needs, is fluent in the language of the horticulture industry, develops lasting relationships, and provides intelligent, comprehensive solutions to the customer. There are different distribution channels to bring our products to the customer. Both through dealers and Greenhouse Builders, as well as directly to end-users (growers/investors). Both channels are considered the domain of the Regional Sales Manager. The Regional Sales manager originates new customer relationships through prospecting (cold calling), lead follow-up, networking, referrals, and face-to-face meetings. Existing customer contact and support is an ongoing requirement throughout the relationship and offers a point of entry for ongoing need analysis and upselling activities. The Regional Sales Manager’s primary function is to generate profitable, top-line sales revenue and satisfied customers.

Key responsibilities

  • Present Ridder's value proposition to dealers and customers.
  • Conduct facility visits to identify opportunities.
  • Close sales using a consultative approach.
  • Ensure regional performance aligns with company goals.
  • Monitor market trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure their needs influence product development.
  • Participate in contract negotiations and sales reviews.
  • Document customer requirements in the CRM.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support sales.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, horticulture, or related field.
  • 15 years of horticulture industry-related experience.
  • Has a strong network in the horticulture industry and has a proven sales track record.
  • Has gained knowledge and experience with drive systems and climate control systems.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, and lives near one of the three major hubs: Dallas, Charlotte, or Atlanta.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD designs.
