Job Title: Jewelry Grinder/Polisher
Overview: The Jewelry Grinder/Polisher is a crucial role within The Riddles Group Inc., responsible for refining rough cast jewelry to meet specific company standards through grinding and/or polishing processes. Reporting to the Grinding/Polishing Department Team Leader, this position entails various tasks to ensure the quality and integrity of our products.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the grinding/polishing of Black Hills gold jewelry.
- Ensuring quality control on the products worked.
- Security: Utilizing "bag count" as a guide.
- Achieving reasonable production output.
- Maintaining consistency in "bag count" from receipt to return to the Grinding/Polishing Team Leader.
- Ensuring consistent, quality work to minimize rejects.
- Safeguarding other areas of jewelry during grinding or polishing processes.
- Quality checking jewelry during the final polishing process and rejecting if necessary.
- Fulfilling any other duties or requests as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Valid driver's license
- 1 – 2 years of experience in Grinding/Polishing preferred
- General knowledge of grinding and polishing techniques
- Attention to detail
- Ability to operate grinding/polishing machinery
Physical Requirements:
- Generally seated, with short periods of standing, bending, reaching, and walking. Lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Transitioning from sitting to standing, or bending positions. Walking throughout the facility, including stairs.
- Utilization of vision and touch to complete assigned tasks.
- Ability to verify "piece" count on each assignment by counting
- Capacity to comprehend verbal and written instructions, as well as effective communication with colleagues and managers.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
