Primary Purpose of this position:
Fabricates and assemble sheet metal products and equipment such as duct work, control boxes, drainpipes, ventilators and furnace casings, according to job order and/or blueprints.
Specific Job Duties:
- Comply with all safety standards, policies and procedures
- Train to operate all shop equipment per safety specifications
- Fabricate and assemble manual dampers or fire damper sleeves
- Layout and fabricate specialty fittings
- Operate all power breaks per machining guides to include adjusting for metal thickness & bend allowances
- Operate waterjet machine
- Operate sheers and ensure proper setting for metal thickness
- operate plasma cutter and properly log all material used
Position Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driver qualification policy
- Ability to accurately read a tape measurer or ruler
- Ability to work 10-hour days Mon-Thurs, Fridays as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift tools, duct, and fixtures overhead
- Ability to stand for long periods of time as well as bend, crouch, kneel, and work in small spaces
- Ability to work at heights including climbing on ladders, scaffolding, and staircases
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and frequently carry 40 lbs unassisted
