What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credentialing Specialist position at Ride Connection?
Ride Connection is seeking a proactive and equity-focused Credentialing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the administration of our Ride Connection driver services and Non-Emergent Medical Transportation (NEMT) program. You will work closely with the Credentialing Supervisor to help manage contract oversight for the NEMT program while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Your responsibilities will include assisting in the tracking and management of company, asset, and driver credentialing and trainings, as well as completing vehicle and safety inspections. As a Credentialing Specialist, you will be expected to independently manage various projects assigned by the Credentialing Supervisor. A key component of this role is maintaining discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with starting pay of $22.85 to $28.56 per hour.
What You’ll Do
- Ensure NEMT providers, drivers and vehicles meet required credentialing standards
- Track company, driver and asset credentialing
- Track all training, licensing and certifications and proactively report these to external NEMT providers
- Performs OIG and SAM mandatory exclusion checks on drivers and transportation providers
- Assist with conducting basic safety inspections of NEMT provider vehicles
- Assist with the compliance of all applicable insurance requirements as well as federal, state, and local laws and regulations
- Assure proper maintenance of organizational records
- Collect data and issue reports according to prescribed timelines
- Represents Ride Connection in a professional manner to our service partners, our funders, and the community
- Develops, maintains and enhances relationships with Ride Connection staff, partners, customers, and supporters
- Provides superior quality customer service to ensure that each person who requests Ride Connection service is treated with dignity, respect and patience
Qualifications
- 3-years’ experience in a similar field or has the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience
- Strong demonstrated computer skills including Microsoft Office programs, related software, and general Excel skills
- Comfort and experience with learning new programs and processes
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities within a specified timeline
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to exercise good judgment, courtesy, and tact in public contact and handling problems
- Must have access to reliable transportation for employment purposes. (*If using personal vehicle, employee must maintain proof of auto insurance and comply with state regulations)
- Maintain a driving record that meets or exceeds Ride Connection’s driver standards
- Ability to pass required National Criminal Record Check, which includes fingerprint identification.
