What are the responsibilities and job description for the Member Reimbursement Support Specialist position at Ride Connection?
Ride Connection is looking for a collaborative relationship builder to join our Member Reimbursement team as a Member Reimbursement Support Specialist.
With Ride Connection the Member Reimbursement Support Specialist is responsible for supporting members who are part of the NEMT (Non-Emergency Medical Transportation) program for the tri county area. They will work cross-functionally with partners and other departments to coordinate resources and details regarding member reimbursements. The role is also responsible for assisting other departments and program partners, this includes communication with medical offices. This position will be responsible for assisting members by providing resolutions and education, maintaining a working knowledge of trip purposes, funding sources, service areas, and other data variations that may impact member reimbursements.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a pay range of $22.85 - $34.27 per hour. The starting pay offered will be based on applicable experience.

What You’ll Do
- Handle incoming and outgoing calls with members, including monitoring faxes, voicemails and emails
- Communicate and collaborate with various Ride to Care Program partners and departments

Tasks may include:
- Receiving Appointment Verification Forms, including completing Internal Verification Forms upon request
- Receiving supporting documentation related to member reimbursement
- Member address verification
- Post-trip appointment verification
- Member education
- Creating and providing member payment summaries
- Assisting member inquiries related to Focus Card or HOP Pass
- Identifying missing member reimbursements or mileage discrepancies, with an understanding of the Ride to Care Program for basic logic and integrity
Possess a clear understanding of what it means to be in compliance, specifically where your assigned tasks are in relation to being in or out of compliance, and communicating to the team Lead and Supervisor if and when you are out of compliance or at risk of being out of compliance.
Qualifications
- 1 year experience in related field or college courses or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience
- Strong computer skills, and proficient with the Microsoft Office environment and related software
- Ability to communicate professionally, effectively and pleasantly on the phone, and to take and relay complete messages
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities within a specified timeline
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to exercise good judgment, courtesy, and tact in public contact and handling problems
- Ability to work with a diversity of individuals including staff, Ride Connection’s network partners, community and government agencies, volunteers, and riders
- Ability to pass a National Criminal Record Check which includes fingerprint identification
- Ability to work as a team member with a diverse group of people
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and to make decisions with minimal supervision by prioritizing and organizing tasks
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment

- Experience in demand-response public transportation
- Experience with using Microsoft SharePoint, Excel, and Pivot Tables
- Transportation program management
