Job Title: Pupil Transportation Driver
Job Description
You use your own car to drive students from their house to their school in the morning, and then back home in the afternoon when school lets out. You will be operating your own car like a school bus.
Pay
- Pay is given based on the number of trips, not the number of students.
- Starting from $35 per trip (15 miles or less from student's house to school)
- If the trip distance is more than 15 miles, then pay increases.
- You are paid by check or direct deposit every week.
How It Works
- 1-3 students can be assigned per trip. The number of students is determined by the school district.
- Once you become contracted to the company, we will give you an offer, and once you accept the offer, your work begins.
- You report your taxes with a 1099 form.
- The company will consider your location first when assigning you a route, but sometimes you may have to go far. In this case, you have the option of accepting or declining the offer.
- During the school semester, you will need to give rides from Monday through Friday. However, on days students don’t go to school, like on holidays or during break, there is no work. During summer break, you could give students rides to summer school.
Duties
- Safely and responsibly ride students.
- Provide excellent service in a friendly and professional manner.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance, reporting any issues to management.

Requirements
- 21 years or older.
- Had a US Driver’s License for at least 3 years.
- Have an Iowa Driver’s License Chauffer's class D with "3" endorsement. (A CDL also work). No knowledge test or driving test is required if you have a valid license. You must pass a vision screening and have a clear driving record for the previous two years.
- Have your own car that has 4 or more doors, and is preferably less than 15 years old.
- Have personal auto insurance.
- Have a Social Security Number.
- Need smartphone to be able to use driver app.
Onboarding Process
- Get a DOT Physical Exam, Pre-employment Drug test at a location specified by the company.
- Get a Criminal Background Check done at a location specified by the company.
- Get a Car Inspection for the car you will be driving. The company will provide the inspection form. We ask that you pay the fee out of pocket first then we will fully reimburse you with the first paycheck.
- Complete 17-hour "New Driver STOP Training" (14 hours online with 3 hours of face to face training) within 6 months.
