Description
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Powersports Service Technician to join our team. As a Powersports Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing diagnostics, maintenance, repairs, and service on a variety of powersports vehicles, including ATVs, UTVs, motorcycles, and personal watercraft. This position is open to both entry-level technicians looking to start their career and master technicians with extensive experience.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements, on powersports vehicles.
- Conduct diagnostic tests to identify and repair mechanical, electrical, and fuel system issues.
- Complete repairs and service work efficiently and accurately according to manufacturer guidelines and dealership standards.
- Ensure the proper use of tools, equipment, and technology while working on various powersports vehicles.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used, repairs made, and customer interactions.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer inquiries, explaining repairs, and providing recommendations for future maintenance.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a powersports vehicle service technician is preferred, but entry-level candidates with a passion for powersports vehicles will be considered.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair powersports vehicles.
- Knowledge and experience working on a variety of powersports vehicles, including ATVs, UTVs, motorcycles, and personal watercraft.
- Diagnose and repair two and four stroke engines.
- Remove and replace engine components as necessary on powersports vehicles.
- Remove and replace defective frame and body parts, using hand tools, arbor presses, flexible power presses, or other tools.
- Perform preventative and regular maintenance, according to manufacturer specifications.
- Compose repair estimates for internal and external customers.
- Inspect vehicles and identify additional recommended services.
- Prepare list of required parts and labor times for each job.
- Safely and effectively operate eddy dynamometer.
- Explain diagnostic test results to Service Manager, and if necessary, the customer.
- Perform test rides and other tests.
- Follow all safety rules and guidelines, as determined by management.
- Good driving record with a valid driver's license.
- Motorcycle endorsement or ability to be endorsed is required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to continuously learn and stay updated on the latest powersports vehicle technologies and repair techniques.
