Summary
We are seeking a reliable, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Part-Time Transport Technician at the North Valley Surgery Center. This position is essential for the efficient operation of our facility, as you will be responsible for the transportation of medical equipment, patient files, and other necessary items between various departments. This role will ensure that our team has what they need to provide excellent care and service to our patients. This position offers a consistent schedule of 8-hour shifts on Mondays and Tuesdays, with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within our team.

Environment: Primarily a temperature-controlled facility.
Sight – sufficient to read physical documents, and images on a computer monitor.
Smell – sufficient to discern smoke/something burning, and other odors.
Hear – sufficient to hold face to face/telephone/video call conversations, and to discern other ambient noises.
Touch – sufficient to operate keyboard, mouse, other standard office equipment, and writing implements.
Physical ability/strength – sufficient to lift, twist, turn, reach, climb, kneel, squat, sit, walk, stand, bend as needed throughout a standard shift.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical equipment, patient files, and other essential items throughout the vision center and surgery center as required.
- Assist in preparing areas for surgeries and procedures by ensuring that required tools, supplies, and equipment are in place.
- Follow all safety protocols for handling medical equipment, tools, and patient materials.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of transportation carts and equipment.
- Assist with general housekeeping duties in the transport areas and ensure that all equipment is returned to proper locations after use.
- Collaborate with other team members, including clinical and administrative staff, to ensure that transportation needs are met in a timely and effective manner.
- Ensure that all transportation tasks are completed efficiently and in compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Report any maintenance needs or damage to equipment promptly to the appropriate personnel.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting or with medical equipment transport is a plus but not required.
- Ability to follow safety and infection control protocols in a medical environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds and be on your feet for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with staff and patients.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
- Experience working in a healthcare or surgery center environment.
- Knowledge of basic medical equipment and procedures.
- Part-time position: Monday and Tuesday, 8 hours per day.

- Work may require prolonged standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching.
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate clinical testing equipment, a keyboard, mouse, and standard office equipment.
- Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to communicate in person, by phone, or over video.
- Requires occasional lifting of papers or boxes up to 50 pounds.
- Position requires travel by company provided car.
