Ridgebury Farm and Stables is an equine centered holistic wellness farm dedicated to supporting individuals’ physical and mental health through therapy on our expansive farm. Services are provided in a flexible setting including indoor and outdoor arenas, barns, small animal pens, and various other outdoor spaces, as well clinical space inside the farmhouse. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work with our clients in a unique and exciting environment. Therapist evaluates a client's needs, creates a treatment plan based on evaluation, maintains records, and provides treatment to clients in a flexible setting including clinic, arena, and farm program areas.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work with our clients in a unique and exciting environment. Therapist evaluates a client's needs, creates a treatment plan based on evaluation, maintains records, and provides treatment to clients in a flexible setting including clinic, arena, and farm program areas.
Job Type: Part-time
10-25 hours weekly with a flexible schedule. Evenings and weekend availability are essential.
Opportunity to grow into a regular full-time position with increasing caseload as therapeutic programs expand.
Qualifications:
Must be licensed and able to practice in the state of Connecticut.
1-2 years of clinical experience preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Maintains excellent client-therapist relationships
Timely and thorough documentation
Participates in training and supervision of level I and II students
Experience with horses preferred
Must be comfortable working outside and walking for long periods of time
May exert up to 50lbs force
Exposure to dirt, odor, animal waste
COTA—
Maintain regular supervision with a Licensed Occupational Therapist and maintain documentation of supervision plan
Responsibilities:
(shall include, but are not limited to)
Adheres to the regulatory and practice standards of Occupational Therapy.
Completing occupational therapy intake and evaluation that includes: reviewing client history, performing evaluation measures, identifying needs, and developing treatment plan
Utilizes hippotherapy techniques to address identified needs
Creative use of clinical and nature spaces to apply interventions
Routinely monitoring and reporting on patient’s progress, modifying a plan of care
Educates patient/family regarding therapeutic exercises, activities and equipment
Entering billing, evaluation and treatment information in billing software in a timely manner (due within 3 days of treatment or evaluation).
Develops and facilitates community and/or therapeutic groups
Mentoring volunteers and shadowing students who come to volunteer/shadow because they are interested in the discipline
Supervising and directing volunteers and students (interns/students in their clinical affiliations/students in their fieldwork experiences) as assigned by Volunteer Coordinator (this may include, but is not limited to composing evaluations, progress reports, and day-to-day guidance and supervision)
