What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at Ridgecrest Conference Center?
Description
To provide custodial services in all public areas, to supply guest areas with linens and supplies, and to provide extensive floor care (carpet, wood, tile) maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain floors, walls, windows, and restrooms in public areas
- Operate heavy duty vacuums, carpet shampooers, carpet extractors, floor strippers, and other equipment (as needed)
- Clean office areas/public restrooms
- Assist in repairing and servicing of all floor equipment
Requirements
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Pleasant, tactful, courteous, and cooperative
- Customer service and interpersonal skills
- Time management skills
Education, Work Experience, and Other Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent desired
- Work experience in the operation of floor care equipment
- Manual labor work experience
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must have ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with a range from floor level to above shoulder height
- Walking and standing on concrete floors for a period of up to eight hours
- Free range of motion including twisting, bending, stooping, and climbing on step ladders
Due to the nature of the job, a person may come in contact with blood-borne pathogens and other body fluids which is a concern for personal safety.
